Ted Wright is correct, my 2017 Colorado (new) w/ 3.6 8 speed was doing the same thing as stated. And the dealer did exactly what Ted has stated and was the cure to those issues, I did have the dealer do another drain and refill at around 45k miles and the truck now has about 77k miles and so far it's been good.
