Since discussing the introduction of the new 2017 Dodge Challenger T/A, I have received a handful of questions about which trimlines it will be replacing and since there has been no word on any of the existing trimlines from 2016 being killed off for 2017 – I wanted to do a piece detailing what the 2017 Challenger trimline lineup should look like when it goes on sale later this year.

Leading up to the Woodward Dream Cruise, Dodge introduced the new 2017 Challenger T/A with either the 5.7L Hemi or the 392 Hemi and while some will complain that these new trimlines are not elaborate enough – I think that this new Challenger T/A is a perfect package for the current muscle car market.

This past weekend, the 2nd Roadkill Nights by Dodge event was held at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan, and while things didn’t go quite as smoothly as they did with the smaller crowd in 2015 – this year’s Detroit Roadkill event was a massive success and a ton of fun for everyone who attended.

Over the past few weeks I have seen a growing number of links to junk news sites insisting that the 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and the 2017 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will be getting more power – but I don’t believe for one second that the mighty Hellcat Hemi will be getting a boost in power so soon after being introduced with 707 horsepower and 650lb-ft of torque.

There have been a few articles being passed around Facebook over the past few weeks insisting that the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will have anywhere from 750 to 850 horsepower and while there has obviously been no word on the 2019 model year from FCA, insider information suggests that there could be a big power bump for the Hellcat Hemi in a couple of years.

The sales numbers for June 2016 are still rolling in but we already know that the Ford Mustang led the way in the muscle car segment for the 20th consecutive month, as the Chevrolet Camaro continued its sales slide – dropping under 5,000 units for the first time since late in 2014 and trailing the Dodge Challenger for the 2nd month in a row.
