Since discussing the introduction of the new 2017 Dodge Challenger T/A, I have received a handful of questions about which trimlines it will be replacing and since there has been no word on any of the existing trimlines from 2016 being killed off for 2017 – I wanted to do a piece detailing what the 2017 Challenger trimline lineup should look like when it goes on sale later this year.

Leading up to the Woodward Dream Cruise, Dodge introduced the new 2017 Challenger T/A with either the 5.7L Hemi or the 392 Hemi and while some will complain that these new trimlines are not elaborate enough – I think that this new Challenger T/A is a perfect package for the current muscle car market.

The new Dodge Viper ACR has set over a dozen track records around the world with its 645hp V10, but for those European Viper owners who want to set track records more efficiently, the German tuning experts at GeigerCars has a new package that increases the output of the wicked American supercar by 120 horsepower.

After doing a piece earlier this week about the new Camaro ZL1 being able to get to 60mph in first gear with the manual transmission, a handful of Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat owners contacted me to point out that their manual transmission muscle cars will do the same – and they can do it in about 4 seconds flat.

This past weekend, the 2nd Roadkill Nights by Dodge event was held at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan, and while things didn’t go quite as smoothly as they did with the smaller crowd in 2015 – this year’s Detroit Roadkill event was a massive success and a ton of fun for everyone who attended.

Today is July 7th and with the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat models providing an advertised 707 horsepower, the folks at Dodge and the masses of Mopar fans around the world have officially dubbed 7-07 National Hellcat Day.

After the first 5 special edition packages for the 2017 Dodge Viper sold out within a few days of going on sales, FCA has cooked up one more special edition American Club Racer which will seemingly cap off the spread of limited edition final-year Vipers.

There are some reports floating around the internet which suggest that the 2017 Ram 1500 will feature the supercharged 6.2L Hemi V8 and while the idea of a 707hp pickup is an alluring one – these reports of such a vehicle coming for the 2017 model year are completely unfounded nonsense made up by clickbait sites.

The sales numbers for June 2016 are still rolling in but we already know that the Ford Mustang led the way in the muscle car segment for the 20th consecutive month, as the Chevrolet Camaro continued its sales slide – dropping under 5,000 units for the first time since late in 2014 and trailing the Dodge Challenger for the 2nd month in a row.
