There have been a few articles being passed around Facebook over the past few weeks insisting that the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will have anywhere from 750 to 850 horsepower and while there has obviously been no word on the 2019 model year from FCA, insider information suggests that there could be a big power bump for the Hellcat Hemi in a couple of years.

Today is July 7th and with the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat models providing an advertised 707 horsepower, the folks at Dodge and the masses of Mopar fans around the world have officially dubbed 7-07 National Hellcat Day.

After the first 5 special edition packages for the 2017 Dodge Viper sold out within a few days of going on sales, FCA has cooked up one more special edition American Club Racer which will seemingly cap off the spread of limited edition final-year Vipers.

There are some reports floating around the internet which suggest that the 2017 Ram 1500 will feature the supercharged 6.2L Hemi V8 and while the idea of a 707hp pickup is an alluring one – these reports of such a vehicle coming for the 2017 model year are completely unfounded nonsense made up by clickbait sites.

The sales numbers for June 2016 are still rolling in but we already know that the Ford Mustang led the way in the muscle car segment for the 20th consecutive month, as the Chevrolet Camaro continued its sales slide – dropping under 5,000 units for the first time since late in 2014 and trailing the Dodge Challenger for the 2nd month in a row.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat can now be purchased with a right hand drive configuration, but those Mopar lovers who want to drive the supercharged monster Down Under wont be going to their local dealership – instead turning to a Melbourne-based importing company to acquire the car and convert it to right drive.

Some more information on the upcoming Roadkill Nights by Dodge has been announced and if you have a smokin’ fast Hellcat Challenger, Hellcat Charger or any other Dodge brand car, you could drive home from the either of the Roadkill events with a cool $10,000 – with big cash prizes for the next three Dodge vehicles and the two quickest non-Dodge cars in attendance.

According to a few dealership employees around the country, the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat are within their final year of production – but I don’t believe for one second that this is anything more than unscrupulous car salespeople trying to bolster sales.

The Hellcat Challenger and Hellcat Charger have asserted themselves as the quickest of the stock American cars when it comes to the quarter mile drag strip, but these high performance monsters are also head-turners when the track is even longer.

After an incredibly one-off event in 2015, the Roadkill Nights by Dodge will add a second event to the schedule for 2016, bringing the same racing action, car show and other Dodge-sponsored high performance fun to both Detroit and Kansas City.
