Since reporting that production of the Dodge Viper ended back in October, I have received a tremendous number of messages from readers who are disappointed about their inability to custom order a Mopar supercar, but it looks like FCA will reopen the Viper order banks by the end of the year – almost serving as a Christmas present for financial comfortable gearheads.

The internet is ripe with talk of how the V8 engines in the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger will soon be replaced by a twin turbocharged V6 and while I believe that we could see a twin turbo V6 in the Dodge muscle cars in the future – I don’t believe for a second that the next generation Challenger or Charger will be without a V8 engine option.

While I hadn’t realized it, all of the Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcat cars we have featured running in the 9-second range have been running high octane race gas, but earlier this week, Robert Lamb ran a 9.993 with his Hellcat Charger running on 93 octane gasoline – making his supercharged Mopar the first to run in the 9s on pump gas.

The SEMA Show has announced their awards for the “Hottest” vehicles of the 2016 show, with the Dodge Charger being named the inaugural Hottest Sedan of SEMA while the Jeep Wrangler claimed the title of the Hottest SUV of SEMA for the 7th straight year – allowing the Jeep to remain the only SUV to win the title since it was introduced back in 2010.
