The ultimate American supercar is going back on sale with the return of the Saleen S7 and as was the case with the 750 horsepower beast, this newest Saleen sports car will feature a twin turbocharged Ford V8 with 1,000 horsepower – and a price tag of $1,000,000.

General Motors is looking to spur sales of the new Chevrolet Camaro and one interesting approach taken by the automaker is to offer owners of a Ford Mustang a “conquest” discount of $2,000 on a 2016 Camaro or $1,500 on a 2017 Camaro – and the Mustang owner doesn’t need to trade in their Ford to get this discount on a new Chevy muscle car.

Denver police issued a warning this week to all pickup truck owners that thefts of trucks have spiked dramatically. In particular, F-150s, F-250s and F-350s have been the targets of thieves.

It has been common knowledge for some time now that the Ford F150 will soon have a diesel engine option and while the Motor Company has offered up any official information, spy shots show what appears to be a Range Rover diesel under the hood of an F150 test truck – seemingly confirming the rumors that the F150 would pack Range Rover power.

One of my favorite moments in the history of cars is the muscle car wars in the mid 60's and early 70's. Detroit's assembly lines were pumping out high horsepower cars that were marketed towards the youth of America (Baby Boomers). The race was on to see who could be the fastest.

Ford Motor held a huge seminar on automotive trends in Dearborn, Michigan. As part of the presentation, the automaker announced that it plans to have self-driving vehicles as shuttles for employees on the Ford campus by 2018.

The results for the 2016 Car & Driver Lightning Lap are in and both of the Ford vehicles in the field turned in solid times – with the new Shelby GT350T turning in the 2nd best time ever among American muscle cars and the quickest time ever for the LL2 class while the new Ford Focus RS set the best time ever by a 4-cylinder car in the 10 years of the Lightning Lap shootout.

Ford announced several investments this week in technology for self-driving cars. It also is going to provide shuttles and bikes for several major metropolitan areas. The shuttle service will start in San Francisco.

Just in time for the return of the NFL football season, the Ford F series is starting a 3-year stint as the official truck of the NFL. To celebrate the new partnership, Ford is also joining forces with Uber, providing a special fleet of F series super duty trucks that can be ordered for tailgating. The super duty truck is a bigger, more rugged version of the F-150. The trucks are usually F-250s.

The folks at Shelby American have rolled out the information on their new Ford Mustang GTE package and while I love the look of the appearance-heavy package, I don’t like the price – as for $17,999 for the components alone, the new Mustang GTE is a pricey option for someone who wants a unique pony car.

GM announced that Both the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon mid-size trucks are adding features to better compete with the Toyota Tacoma. Tacoma fans seem more concerned about a new Ford Ranger that may hit dealer lots as a 2018 model.

Ford Motor Company plans to offer a 670 horsepower version of the Ford Mustang GT with a Roush supercharger package at Australian dealerships with a full warranty, but the Australian regulatory process has caused a delay in the automaker launching these high performance models – forcing owners of the popular new Mustang to search elsewhere in their quest for more power.

Online discussions on enthusiast forums and social networks make it clear that Ford F150 fans still want a “Lightning” high performance on-road pickup, regardless of how good the 2017 Raptor F150 might be on the road and off – mainly because these folks want a short cab, short bed truck that lacks the added weight of four wheel drive.

A video has surfaced showing a mysteriously camouflaged Ford Mustang rolling around the Metro Detroit area and while this car might look like a new Shelby GT350, it doesn’t sound like that road racing beast – leading me (and many others) to believe that this could be the big power Mustang designed to go to battle with the likes of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for the 2015 Ford Mustang fastback along with a handful of other Ford and Lincoln vehicles from the 2013 through 2016 model years in areas around the US with the highest temperatures – affecting roughly 830,000 vehicles in 16 states.

Ford Motor Company recently built and donated a uniquely designed Shelby GT350 Mustang for the Experimental Aircraft Association and with the auction for that car having taken place last week, the automaker has announced that the bright yellow muscle car raised $295,000 for the charity.
