The Ford Mustang continued its domination of the American muscle car sales race into a 9th month in July 2015, once again beating the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger in a month where all three muscle cars saw a decline in sales – allowing the Mustang to build a massive lead in the annual sales race.

The 2015 Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang has been heavily hyped since first being introduced earlier this year at the Detroit Auto Show, but having had my first chance to go for a high speed ride in the most track capable Mustang ever – I can say without question that this new Shelby is every bit as good as Ford has led us to believe.

Ford Motor Company announced yesterday that the 2015 Shelby GT350R Mustang weighs just 3,650lbs, making it lighter than the Chevrolet Camaro Z28 and more importantly, the GT350R was able to lap Grattan Raceway a full second quicker than the Z28.
