The official word has surfaced that there will only be 250 examples of the 2017 Ford GT supercar built annually for the entire world, guaranteeing sales success but also guaranteeing that this car will never pose a real threat to the likes of the Chevrolet Corvette or Dodge Viper in terms of real world performance credentials.

When the Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang was first introduced last year, the Motor Company promised that the new flat plane V8 engine would deliver at least 500 horsepower and 400lb-ft of torque, but new comments made by a Ford exec indicate that it will be at least 520 horsepower.
