The final preparations for 2015 Ford F150 production is currently underway at the Rouge River Assembly plant and that means that the all-new F150 will be reaching dealerships soon, but even with all of the upsides of the lightweight half ton pickups, “expert analysts” continue to preach of the many downsides of the new aluminum body – all of which will be quickly forgotten once these trucks are in the hands of consumers around the US.

One of my regular readers emailed me the picture above of a 2015 Ford F150 Lightning rendering, asking me if it something like this is coming and while I don’t know if we are likely to see a new Lightning for the new model year – this image definitely shows that the 2015 F150 could be converted into one great looking sport truck.

The 2015 Ford F150 will almost assuredly be the most efficient half ton F Series ever, but if the Motor Company wants to challenge the super efficient Ram 1500 with EcoDiesel engine and the 8-speed automatic, Ford will need to do more – and that “more” could come in the form of a 10-speed automatic transmission developed with help from General motors.
