The Ford Mustang turns 50 years old later this week and today General Motors posted an image of the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 with a set of candles and a friendly message wishing its bitter rival a happy 50th birthday.

Ford announced earlier this year that the 2015 Ford Mustang GT Convertible would be displayed atop the Empire State Building to celebrate the famous sports car’s 50th birthday and with that stunt scheduled to take place later this week – the Motor Company has offered up a video giving us a look at the preparation process.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially closed their investigation into the Ford F150 pickups powered by the popular EcoBoost V6 after deciding that there is no need to recall those 360,000 trucks due to a power loss issue - with no further action required by the automaker and that means no recall of their most popular pickup.

The folks at Recaro Automotive Seating announced this morning that the 2015 Ford Mustang will offer similar race-inspired Recaro bucket seats to those found in the 2014 Mustang along with other Ford performance models like the Fiesta ST and the Focus ST.

A Ford Mustang owner who was hired as a temporary contractor working on the grandstands at the legendary Churchill Downs horse racing facility in Louisville Kentucky was arrested earlier this week when he was caught doing donuts in the infield of the track in his trusty pony car – a move which resulted in a felony charge.

Ford Motor Company issued a brief press release today pertaining to the base V6 and premium EcoBoost V6 from the Ford F150 – reminding us once again that the EcoBoost critics were very, very wrong as this diverse pair of V6 engines account for more than half of the new F150s sold through the first two months of 2014.

The folks at Whipple Superchargers have offered up the first bit of information on their upcoming 2015 Ford Mustang GT supercharger package and while the company has stated any exact power figures – simple math suggests that Whipple will likely push the 2015 Mustang GT up to 700 horsepower and maybe even beyond that lofty number.
