During the 2013 calendar year, 19 vehicles sold at least 200,000 units in the United States and this list of the 19 bestselling vehicles in the US is led by Ford, General Motors and Toyota – each of which has four vehicles on the list of models which moved at least 200k units last year.

In the past few weeks since it became official that the 2015 Ford Mustang would feature an EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine I have seen countless calls by enthusiasts to do away with the 3.7L V6 option since the EcoBoost offers similar power and better fuel economy but that would be a move that would almost certainly cost FoMoCo some sales.

While not everyone is as excited about the looks of the 2015 Ford Mustang as I am, the similarities across the different trim lines could really help sales improve with the two non-V8 models sporting a look that is very much like the GT package – allowing base model Mustang buyers more of the same great looks as the pricier GT models.

While we have all been preoccupied with the look of the 2015 Ford Mustang it seems that we forgot to really look closely at the performance of the S550 outside of the new EcoBoost engine option but even without a big boost in power – the 2015 Mustang lineup should be the best performing generation in the car’s 50 year history.

While the Motor Company was fairly vague when discussing the powertrain specifications for the 2015 Ford Mustang, they did announced that the 2.3L EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine would be offered and that it will indeed make at least 300 horsepower and 300lb-ft of torque – confirming my speculation from earlier this week and making the already impressive Mustang engine list even better.
