Ford Motor Company announced this morning that the very first 2015 Ford Mustang sold to the public will go to the highest bidder at the Barrett Jackson Auto Auction in Scottsdale Arizona and what will likely be massive proceeds of said auction will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

It has been expected for some time that the next generation range topping Ford Mustang will be named the GT350 rather than the GT500 that SVT-buyers have been snatching up since 2007 and according to a Ford dealership website via an enthusiast community – there is now definitive proof that there is a Mustang GT350 on the way very soon.

While the Motor Company was fairly vague when discussing the powertrain specifications for the 2015 Ford Mustang, they did announced that the 2.3L EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine would be offered and that it will indeed make at least 300 horsepower and 300lb-ft of torque – confirming my speculation from earlier this week and making the already impressive Mustang engine list even better.

We are happy to pass along the message Ford came up with this week about how much more gasoline the F-150 EcoBoost has saved when compared to the electric Tesla. However, it seems odd that a vehicle that gets 15 MPG city is the green car Ford wants to brag about.
