"I’ve seen some posts about wind noise at highway speed (60+). I was experiencing that myself and unsure if it was ‘normal’ or an issue. Took it to the local Tesla Service Center, and the Master Tech did a drive with me. 5 minutes into it, he diagnosed the issue. The driver window wasn’t fully sealing and needed adjustment. 2 hours later (with other minor work), the CT is driving as it should - no wind noise! My first experience with the Tesla service department. Top-notch," wrote Duanne Arutti at the Tesla Cybertruck Owners group on Facebook two days ago.
Apparently, the wind noise is a common issue with Tesla electric vehicles as at least several other group members showed they had an experience with it.
One of them wrote, "That’s a very common issue with Tesla EVs in general. They had to seal it for my S a few years ago."
Another person commented that he had the same experience. However, he says it was his only issue with the Cybertruck and they fixed it.
In the case of another Cybertruck owner, the issue was apparently a little more complicated. He says, "I took it in for the same thing (Cybertruck's wind noise). Tesla had to replace my entire glass roof and state I’m the first they’ve done… The problem was that it was supposedly overlapping the front windshield allowing the air in at speeds as low as 30 mph. 70 mph was unbearable and it sounded like a heard of witches on a broomstick."
And yet another person, named Maureen says "I might have the same issue. The noise drives me Barry. It's much worse in my Model Y than the Model 3. I thought it was the tires..."
Based on the experiences shared by multiple Tesla Cybertruck owners, wind noise seems to be a fairly common issue with these vehicles. While some owners have reported that the problem was resolved through simple adjustments to the windows or seals, others have required more extensive repairs, such as replacing the entire glass roof. It's clear that addressing wind noise issues in Tesla Cybertrucks can vary in complexity.
For those experiencing this problem, I would recommend consulting with a Tesla service center to determine the specific cause and appropriate solution. Looks like the cause it's common: either a window, sunroof or something isn't fully sealing.
