Google's Danny Sullivan recently tweeted about Chevy Bolt's advantage over Tesla Model 3 because the Model 3 doesn't support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. His complaint may be very valid.

Danny Sullivan (Wikipedia) is not the last person in the tech industry. Being the co-founder of Search Engine Land, last year he joined Google as an adviser at the search division of the company.
About 10 days ago he twitted why he didn't buy a Tesla Model 3. Sullivan wrote that his main hesitation for buying a Model 3 was that Tesla's flagship car didn't have Apple CarPlay / Android Auto. This is something that increasingly more and more drivers would want to have in their cars.
Comparing Tesla Model 3 to Chevy Bolt, Sullivan wrote that his Bolt has both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In fact, Chevy Bolt does have few advantages overTesla Model 3 and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto isn't even mentioned in that Torque News article to which I just linked in this paragraph.
Sullivan then goes on writing "If we can send a Telsa past the moon, we should support those within a Telsa. Meanwhile back on Earth, my Chevy Bolt supports both wonderfully."
Then in a different tweet he suggests the nation's largest car rental companies to put a window sticker on the cars that support Apple CarPlay / Android Auto.
In fact, Toyota's newest vehicle refresh will have Apple Car Play. Android Auto and Apple Car Play are excellent automotive apps, but on road trips 2 hidden weaknesses and one strength quickly become apparent.

I have a Bolt, and
I have a Bolt, and occasionally use Carplay.
IMHO, it has lousy human factors, and does not support wifi or bluetooth, so you have to plug in with USB. I'd much rather have a Garmin for navigation, and the music features are 1980-level.
Overall, I wouldn't pay a dime for it as a feature of a car - it pretty much sux.
Tesla does not play well with
Tesla does not play well with others. I suspect they will market a Tesla-branded smartphone at a Tesla price point.
I have to say Apple CarPlay
I have to say Apple CarPlay is my absolute favorite thing about the Chevy Bolt... after the powertrain of course.
I would rather have reliable
I would rather have reliable superchargers for my Bolt or Model 3 and be able to drive my vehicle places than Apple car play which I rarely use.
The more electric cars we
The more electric cars we have on our streets the better. We need 10 minutes to 80% charged and no more ICE vehicles...THEN everyone can lose their minds over Chevy vs Tesla vs Blah. In the meantime as long as it has Bluetooth they can shove an 8 Track in there and I wouldn’t give a Nickelback.
I used car play once in a
I used car play once in a rental (have a 13 Volt at home) and it was not as useful as I was hoping. I would go with a fast charge infrastructure over CarPlay in a heartbeat.
My Tesla supports the
My Tesla supports the trasition to sustanable production and consumption of clean energy not Apple or Google shareholders. Every last cent spent by Tesla customers should go toward that goal. Tesla is not going to sell every last vehicle on earth. If Carplay is more important to you than above, Supercharger Network, superior seats, superior 0-60,60-0, handling( later Gs), superior design etc etc etc then go for it and get a fugly Bolt.
Apple car play lacks big time
Apple car play lacks big time against android auto especially due to the limitations of Siri imo. Don't think that would ever be enough to sway my decision
Many Tesla Model S owners
Many Tesla Model S owners have asked for support, but so far Tesla refuses. I think Musk said that those APIs don't provide a good enough user interface so Tesla would keep it in-house.

Tesla Model 3 is much better
Tesla Model 3 is much better than the bolt, Tesla should get apple/android car play though. Chevy Bolt is really ugly, its a good start for GM but man its ugly.
I think the Bolt looks way
I think the Bolt looks way cool and has hints of a rally car. Tesla 3? BORING. Performance? OK. you have a point. But loaded its like 50 grand. My Bolt was 35 BEFORE the 7500 federal tax credit. And since you went out of your way to subjectively say the Bolt is ugly, The Tesla 3 looks like the lame-o cars boys sketch in high school with limited drawing skills....30 years ago. AND its going to be even more BORING when your uncle, aunt betsy and ex-father-in-law is driving one too. Can you say Tesla 3's new nickname: The Tesla GERMAINE?
