The 2013 SRT Viper GTS-R has been engineered to compete in the GT class of the American LeMans Series and the folks from SRT are supporting two teams – the #91 car sponsored by Forza Motorsport and the #93 car sponsored by Pennzoil Ultra - and with the arrival of the Viper GTS-R in Forza 4 comes both of those race cars. In addition to having the new cars including the pair of Vipers, those who opt to buy the September Pennzoil Car Pack will be able to race their favorite Viper GTS-R ALMS car in the new monthly Rivals event that takes place on Road America. To announce the arrival of the Viper GTS-R in Forza 4, the folks at Turn 10 Studios put together a quick video showing the two in action via the FM4 graphics generator on the track at Road America and you can check that out at the end of this article.
Now, there are surely some Forza 4 gamers out there who are quietly complaining to themselves about the fact that the September Pennzoil Car Pack contains two of the same cars but fear not – as the September pack comes with 11 cars rather than the usual 10. In addition to the two Viper race cars, September Car Pack buyers get a spread of classic European models including the 1968 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, the 1960 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, the 1958 Austin Healey Sprite MKI, the 1965 MG MGB GT, the }1955 Mercedes Benz 300 SLR and the 1967 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia along with the 2011 Citroen DS4. Finally, the Pennzoil Car Pack adds the 1953 Chevrolet Corvette and the 1983 GMC Vandura G1500 so there is more American influence than just the Vipers with the original Vette and a vintage GM van (which I also find to be an unusual choice – but no more unusual than the Ford Transit.).
Like all monthly car packs, the September Pennzoil Car Pack carries a price of 560 Microsoft points (about $7 US Dollars) and this set is currently on sale now. Also, the Viper GTS-R Rivals challenge is also live right now so once you get the new Viper race cars – you can begin tearing up the Road America race course against other gamers from around the world.
Now that the 2013 SRT Viper GTS-R is available on Forza Motorsport 4, gamers can set up their own ALMS races including the entries from Chevrolet, Porsche, Ferrari, Lotus and now the mighty SRT Viper.
