A big part of being a modern supercar is having a sound that is fitting of one of the most powerful cars in the world and based on what we hear in this short video, the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will indeed offer a stunning exhaust note from the supercharged LT4 V8.
This video was captured during the setup stages of the 2014 North American International Auto Show where the C7 Z06 made its world debut and it shows the dark grey Z06 idling its way into the Chevrolet area. The video starts with a closeup shot of the Z06’s quad exhaust tips and we join the new super-Corvette when it is already running. As soon as this video starts…anyone who loves horsepower should instantly fall a little more in love with the 2015 Corvette Z06.
This video gives us an opportunity to hear the LT4 V8 of the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 at idle while sitting still and in gear as it rolls forward with a slightly lower pitched tone in gear but the cammy grumble of this new blown beast is a sweet symphony of horsepower. Based on what we can hear in the video, I can only imagine that the new Z06 will be one of the loudest, one of the raspiest and one of the just plain nastiest sounding American performance cars of all time.
Of course, it is also guaranteed to be the best performing Corvette of all time so it would only be fitting if this new Z06 had a sound that would let everyone know that it is coming and going.
After roughly 38 seconds of idling time by the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, the rest of the video is just video of the new Z06 from different angles – first of the metallic grey model from the beginning of the video and then more video of the bright yellow Corvette that debuted on the Detroit Auto Show stage alongside the new Corvette C7R race car.
Unfortunately, we don’t get to hear the new bright yellow Z06 but the brief 38 seconds at the beginning of this video is pure gold for lovers of American performance cars. This is our first chance to hear the Corvette that will be the best performing General Motors performance car of all time but more importantly – the C7 Z06 could be the next American performance car that will comfortably take down some of the biggest, baddest and most expensive supercars sold in Europe.
Crank up your speakers and enjoy this video of the new C7 Z06 running. Kudos to DtRockstar1 for catching this for us all to enjoy until GM offers up video of the new Corvette Z06 in action.
