The 2018 Ram 1500 model year is quickly approaching and to offer more options to prospective buyers, the Ram Truck brand has announced a collection of new trimlines for the new model year. This includes some light revisions to existing trimlines as well as a new premium package for the half ton and 3/4 –ton Ram pickups.
2018 Ram Limited Tungsten Edition
There was a point in time where people questioned the usefulness of a premium luxury pickup, but these loaded trucks have proven to be so popular that the Detroit automakers are always striving to roll out the next, more-premium luxury package. The Ram Truck brand has just announced their newest premium package, which is available for the Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 for the 2018 model year and it is called the Ram Limited Tungsten Edition.

As you should be able to tell, the Ram Limited Tungsten Edition is based on the Ram Limited, so the Tungsten Edition is the new top-of-the-line trimline for the Ram 1500 and Ram 2500. In addition to the long list of standard premium features of the Ram Limited package, the Tungsten Edition starts by adding “Natura Plus” Frost and Indigo-colored premium leather on the seats, dash, steering wheel, center arm rest and door panels. Next, the Tungsten Edition adds the segment’s first suede headliner`, Indigo carpeting, rubber floormats with matching carpeted inserts, real wood trim throughout the cabin and, of course, package-specific badges.
“The Limited Tungsten Edition is the highest trim level Ram has made available,” said Mike Manley, Head of Ram Brand, FCA – Global. “The new Tungsten Edition is an example of how Ram directly responds to customer input by offering the industry’s most luxurious pickup. Premium truck buyers will recognize the attention to detail, surrounded by quality materials.”
On the outside, the Ram Limited Tungsten Edition adds a new Tungsten Chrome grille with the RAM lettering, a sport hood (1500 only) and body colored bumpers, mirrors, door handles and running boards. This package also wears the black headlight bezel from the Ram Sport and out back is a body colored RAM logo on the tailgate. Finally, Tungsten Chrome accents and badging is found all around the outside of the new premium pickups.
The Ram 1500 Limited Tungsten Edition MSRP starts at $55,120 and this truck should be available in the 3rd quarter of 2017. No pricing has been offered on the 2500 and 3500 trucks, but we do know that the Tungsten Edition can be painted Bright Silver Metallic, Bright White, Brilliant Black Crystal, Delmonico Red Pearl, Granite Crystal Metallic, Maximum Steel Metallic (1500 only), Pearl White and True Blue Pearl.
2018 Ram 1500 Sport gets a Refresh
Next up, the 2018 Ram 1500 Sport package gets a bit of a refresh featuring the RAM grille design rather than the crosshairs. The Ram 1500 Sport comes with a full spread of body colored items, from bumpers to door handles, with the buyer’s choice of black wheels and badges or bright polished wheels and badges. The standard interior features of the 2018 Ram 1500 Sport remain the same as the 2017 models. The Ram 1500 Sport MSRP starts at $44,395 plus $1,395 destination.
Also, while the Sport package is a trimline on the 2018 Ram 1500, those folks buying the Ram 2500 or 3500 in Big Horn, Lone Star and Laramie trim can add the optional Sport package as well.

2018 Ram 1500 Big Horn Black and Lone Star Black
Finally, the 2018 Ram 1500 benefits from the new Big Horn Black and Lone Star Black in Texas. Each of these packages come with all of the standard features of the Ram 1500 Big Horn, but as you might have guessed, the “Black: aspect adds a spread of black trim pieces on a black truck. These packages can only be ordered in black with a black grille, black badges, black wheels and black headlight bezels.
The Ram 1500 Big Horn Black and Lone Star Black models have an MSRP of $44,290 plus $1,395 destination.
