Ken Block is best known for his “hoonage” videos on YouTube, although when he isn’t performing crazy stunts in a rally car or his all-wheel drive, NASCAR-powered 1965 Ford Mustang, he has made quite a name for himself in the world of rally racing. Since Block joined the Ford Performance rally team a few years back, he has helped the Motor Company show off a variety of high performance vehicles so we knew that it was only a matter of time before he put together a video pairing his driving skills with the new 2017 Ford F150 Raptor.
Well, that time has come, as Ford Performance has put together a short piece showing Ken Block playing in the snow with the new F150 Raptor – although it isn’t quite as elaborate as you might hope.
Ken Block and the 2017 Raptor F150
The first video of Ken Block playing with the 2017 Ford F150 Raptor takes place in an undisclosed location, which the fine print at the beginning insists is a closed course. Block spends lots of time playing with his own vehicles in areas of Utah around his Hoonigan headquarters and I would guess that this footage of the new F150 Raptor with Block at the wheel took place in a similar area.
The video begins with Ken Block climbing into a bright white 2017 Ford Raptor F150 that is sitting in the middle of a wide open, snow covered area. Over the next 15 seconds, we watch as Block jumps the new Raptor and slides around in the snow – with a variety of camera angles around, under and in the truck giving us a great look at Block and the new Raptor while they work together.
Not surprisingly, the new F150 Raptor has no issues getting through the snow or flying through the air, and the truck appears to hold up quite nicely to the toughest that Ken Block can throw at it. What is surprising is that this video is only 36 seconds long, so we don’t get to see a great deal of driving action featuring the team of Ken Block and the new Raptor.
However, the footage that we do see only serves to build the anticipation around this new high performance Ford F150 pickup. Raptors are slowing trickling out to owners so if you ordered one, it shouldn’t be too long before you have your new high performance pickup, but in the meantime, enjoy the video below!
