Each month, TorqueNews works with the members from the Camaros Unlimited Facebook group to select our Camaro of the Month. The process begins with the members of the Camaros Unlimited Facebook page – more than 42,000 of them – nominating their favorite Chevrolet Camaro owned by a fellow member of the page. Once five owners have been nominated, the voting begins and when the balloting closes – we have our Camaro of the Month.
For May 2019, the huge crowd of Chevy fans chose the 1969 Camaro RS/SS clone shown here as their favorite of the five. I reached out to Mark Peterson for more information on his classic muscle car and below, you will find his story.
502 RS/SS
My 1969 Camaro RS/SS clone and a black interior with hounds tooth seats. It is badged as a 502, sporting a ZZ502 Chevrolet crate engine fitted with an Edelbrock E-Street fuel injection system. The power from that big block V8 is sent to the wheels by means of a Tremec Magnum Pro Touring Series 6-speed manual transmission, a Moser 3.73 rear differential and Moser axles.
I got the car from my brother when he passed away. The car means the world to me and my family. Me and my 3 boys love working on it and talking about their uncle Matt and all the fun times we have had together.
Congratulations to Mark Peterson and his 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS clone for being named the Camaro of the Month for May 2019. If you would like to participate in the Camaro of the Month program with your Chevy muscle car, click here to join Camaros Unlimited!
