During the entire month, anyone who buys a 2011 Ram pickup can select the 5.7L Hemi for no additional cost. While the announcement applies to all 2011 Ram pickups, this special really only applies to the Ram 1500 lineup since the Hemi is standard in the Ram Heavy Duty pickups. However, for those buyers looking at a 1500 - no matter what cab size, bed size or trimline – the 390 horsepower 5.7L Hemi V8 can be selected for no additional price. Depending on the model chosen, this free Hemi deal for the 2011 Ram 1500 saves the buyer between $1,300 and $2,300.
But what if you are buying a model that only comes with a Hemi (like the Ram 1500 Sport R/T or Ram 2500 Power Wagon) or you want the 3.7L V6 or 4.7L V8? The Ram brand still has you covered as the special deal is the option of a free Hemi upgrade or Engine Bonus Cash. If you are buying a Ram 1500 ST and you want to stick with the 3.7L V6, the Engine Bonus Cash program will pay you $500. If you are buying a new Ram 1500 already equipped with the Hemi or you are buying one with the 4.7L V8, Ram will give you $1,000 in Engine Bonus Cash and if you are buying a Cummins-powered Ram HD, you will get the same $1,000 as the V8 truck buyers. For what it is worth, having driven Ram’s with the various engines, if you are buying a Ram 1500, the Hemi is the best choice and in getting the free engine upgrade you will save more than you will get in cash with the Engine Bonus Cash. I am a Hemi Ram owner and I couldn’t be happier with it for towing and the occasional dragstrip pass.
In addition to the free Hemi program on the 2011 Ram 1500s, Ram is offering $2,000 in Consumer Cash on Ram Quad Cab and Crew Cab models and if you are a returning Chrysler buyer you may also be eligible for an additional $1,000 in Loyalty Cash. This means that during Ram Truck Month, an eligible-enough buyer can walk out with a 4-door 2011 Ram 1500 Hemi with $4,000 back right off the bat.
This move by the Ram brand could really help ramp up truck sales as we head into spring. The new free Hemi program comes just a day after the brand announced the new Ram 1500 Tradesman model and the new 6.7L High Output Cummins Diesel in the Ram 2500 and 3500 at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show.
