On Saturday, Jan. 29, Mecum will offer a race-ready 2007 #8 Budweiser Chevy Monte Carlo SS (Lot S201) driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and prominently featuring a Dale Earnhardt Jr. autograph on the dashboard. Chassis number 83 and built by Dale Earnhardt Industries, the Monte Carlo SS marked the final season together for Earnhardt Jr., DEI and Budweiser, closing a chapter that saw the team win 19 Cup races, including two in the fabled Daytona 500.
According to the folks at Mecum, this NASCAR icon is completely race ready and is equipped with the correct engine, transmission and final drive for competition, and will be sold as is on a bill of sale.
The custom Richard Childress NASCAR #29 Shell Pennzoil was donated in support of the programs for special needs students and Cooke and Old Village schools in Northville, Michigan. It was donated by a family whose child currently attends Cooke School and was a former student at Old Village School. The car has been touring auto shows around the country to promote the programs at the two schools. This custom Richard Childress racing Shell Pennzoil NASCAR has an SV2 race engine with estimated 750 hp and chassis numbered RCRE #93. It was raced by Daytona 500 champion #29 Kevin Harvick at Atlanta and also tested at Indy, Charlotte and Michigan. It goes up for bid with no reserve on Friday, Jan. 28.
