The CW and Ford have formed The CW SHOWroom, which gives viewers the opportunity to win a new 2012 Ford Focus each night during The CW’s prime time, through Friday, April 8. The CW created custom commercials for a week-long campaign featuring stars from the network’s shows, including “Gossip Girl,” “The Vampire Diaries” and “90210." Viewers can watch to learn how to enter to win an all-new Ford Focus, see sneak previews of upcoming episodes of The CW shows, and get an up-close look at the all-new Focus.
How to say this politely? Well, your odds of winning are probably a lot greater than if you were watching a network like CBS. So, suffer through a couple of hours of shows you've never watched before and you might just drive away in a new Ford Focus.
Tonight, April 6, is an important night to tune-in. On "America's Next Top Model," the models are teaming up with Ford Warriors in Pink to help raise awareness and work toward a cure for breast cancer. The relationship will be integrated into the entire episode and garner support through a print campaign for the 2011 Warriors in Pink line of apparel. Ford is a 17-year partner of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and has dedicated more than $110 million to the breast cancer cause.
Of course, at its website, CW isn't just zeroing in on the Komen connection. Pay attention guys. The "focus" (in a lame attempt to make a Ford Focus tie-in) is on something called "The Mud Shoot" on tonight's episode of "America's Next Top Model." You'll just have to tune-in to find out what that's all about.
The show that's on after is "Shedding for the Wedding," which is another great tie-in for the Focus because it is 10 percent more fuel efficient for 2012 than it was in 2010. It may not be leaner but it sure is more fuel efficient.
On Thursday, you can tune-in to "The Vampire Diaries" and "Nikita" for your shot to win a Ford Focus. On Friday, you're not going to want to miss "Smallville" at 8 p.m. and "Supernatural" at 9 p.m. Unfortunately, both are repeats but "Smallville," which tells the Superman saga in high school (even though all the actors on it are probably in their late 20s by now), is rerunning the pilot episode.
Customized for each night of the campaign, the long-form ads showcasing the sweepstakes will feature The CW stars giving special previews of what’s coming up on their shows, as a Ford product specialist – and enthusiastic CW fan – shows them all the features of the all-new Ford Focus. As part of the partnership, Ford Focus brand messaging will also be carried across The CW on-air, online and on-mobile for the full week, with special night opens and billboards on-air each night.
