Win a Ford Mustang Lease on Facebook

Ford has announced a contest to win a two-year Mustang lease on Facebook by coming up with a name the V-6 performance package. My how things have changed that the words Mustang, V-6 and performance package can be used in the same sentence without derisive peals of laughter. Then again, compared to the old four-bangers once offered in Mustangs, a V-6 isn't a bad alternative.

The Ford Mustang Facebook community is more than 940,000 strong, and they are being asked to put their heads together to come up with a name for the V6 Performance Package that gives Mustang an extra dose of handling performance. Visitors to the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show also can get in on the fun by stopping at the Ford stand to submit their idea for the fast and fun package.

The Ford Mustang contest awards one winner a two-year lease of a 2012 Ford Mustang with the V-6 performance package. All one needs do is go to the Facebook page and submit an entry. Just to make things simpler, the current entries are posted. Among the early suggestions are: Chicane, Greased Lightning, and Po Po Zow package, which sounds like an Asian casino game. My suggestion is going to be Greased Chicane Po Po package.

The V-6 performance package includes such features as:

  • 3.31 rear axle
  • upsized front sway bar
  • 19-inch painted aluminum wheels with summer tires
  • unique front springs, and
  • unique stability control calibration
