Mercedes-Benz has announced pricing for the ultra-exclusive performance coupe, the 2014 SLS AMG Black Series and for the 2014 C63 AMG Edition 507 sedan and coupe. Both vehicles will be available at all U.S. Mercedes-Benz dealers soon.
The 2014 SLS AMG Black Series coupe will have an MSRP of $275,000 plus $1,800 destination. It is offered in extremely limited production with a curb weight of just 3,616 pounds, giving it a power-weight ratio of just 5.81 pounds per horsepower. It delivers 622 hp from its 6.3-liter V8 and does 0 to 60 mph in only 3.5 seconds.
Standard items like the new adjustable rollover AMG Adaptive Performance Suspension, high-performance ceramic two-piece braking, and weight-optimized, forged AMG light-alloy wheels carrying high-performance tires are all there for the price. Dual-clutch technology proffers spectacular shift times on the seven-speed sport transmission with AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT. Altogether giving a top speed of 196 mph for the 2014 SLS AMG Black Series.
The 2014 C63 AMG Edition 507 coupe starts at $72,500 plus $925 destination while the sedan begins at $70,000 plus $925 destination. This newly-developed model replaces the AMG Development Package on previous models. Both the sedan and coupe have the same 6.3-liter V8 outputting 507 hp, an upgrade of 56 hp from the previous year (hence the new Edition). The same forged pistons, connecting rods, and lightweight crankshaft from the sports model are present along with an AMG high-performance compound braking system as standard.
Both the coupe and sedan Edition 507 have a 0-60 mph time of 4.1 seconds and have a top speed of 174 mph, increased from 155 mph last year.
