Lexus’ new ES 350 adopts a more stylish design for 2016. In addition, the company’s best-selling car will be one of the first models to be outfitted with the Lexus Safety System +, a lower-cost package of active safety features.
2016 Lexus ES 350 Exterior
The new 2016 Lexus ES will feature a more dynamic looking front end treatment. The spindle grill, already part of the ES design, is now framed in satin chrome to emphasize the feature now becoming the Lexus trademark. New headlights and daytime running lights add to the sleek new look. Interestingly, the new ES also has new fog-lamps pushed to the sides of the car and using a vertical design like those on the Camry XSE. Lexus and Toyota tried so hard to separate the Camry from the ES back when they shared a platform this style choice seems surprising.
Along the sides, the ES has a familiar look. In back, the taillights are redesigned to emphasize the wide stance of the ES and give it a more aggressive look. New wheels are now directional in their design and run from 17inch to 20 inch depending upon trim.
Lexus Safety
The new ES will have the lower-cost forward collision prevention, lane departure alert, and other technology now incorporated in the Lexus Safety System +. Named to sound like the IIHS Top Safety Pick+, the new system will put more active safety features into more owner’s vehicles. Lexus already has the most Top Safety Pick+ rated models and the most models without a driver death in the US market. This new system will likely add to its safety lead.
