For the 2017 model year, Lexus will make the Linear Adaptive Vehicle Suspension (AVS) system standard on all of its RC F and GS F trims. In addition, the system now features greater levels of adjustment.
Lexus’ AVS monitors each of the four wheels in real-time using sensors to determine the damping needs of the vehicle based on road conditions and also what drive mode the driver has selected. The drive mode system features Eco, Normal, Sport, Sport S, and Sport S+. Lexus says that its Adaptive Variable Suspension, which features a linear solenoid design, was tuned during runs on the Nürburgring. The result is improved steering during cornering and better body roll stability. Lexus says the AVS system also enhances ride smoothness when accelerating and decelerating.
In addition to AVS and drive modes, both the GS F and RC F offer the LexusEight-speed Sport Direct Shift (SPDS) automatic transmission with Lexus G force Artificial Intelligence Shift control (G AI-SHIFT). Coupled with the Torque Vectoring Differential (TVD) Lexus now offers a track-ready sedan or coupe that is also quite comfortable on long touring trips or even a commute.
