Firefighters from Burbank California are credited with taking this amazing video showing a Prius being swept along in a mudslide. The Prius isn't completely out of control to our eye, but rather, seems to be making a go of it in the fast-rushing mud slurry.
The Prius' owner, Desionne Franklin, was initially in control, but told news reporters, "When I got halfway down the hill, I just felt this burst of water hit the back of the car,” he said.
Franklin, not originally from California, thought he would die. “I guess this is going to be it for me, right here,” he later recalled thinking.
Despite the conditions, Franklin said the Prius was able to remain in control at the end of the slide.“I didn’t even know a Prius could hold up in nothing like that." Other cars were not so lucky. “One of the cars looked like a wadded up piece of foil paper," he said. "You couldn’t even recognize what it was to begin with.”
The Prius ran fine following the ordeal. Toyota's quality, reliability, and durability on full display, even in adverse circumstances.
