The Honda CR-V Hybrid hit the market earlier this year. The vehicle has many desirable features including great fuel economy, great cargo and passenger space, and it is all-wheel drive. We polled owners in the Facebook Honda CR-V Hybrid & CR-V PHEV Owners and Enthusiasts Club to see what aspect of this vehicle gave them their biggest surprise.
Before conducting the poll, we first posted up an inquiry asking for suggestions. From that list, we posed a number of options, and owners could also add to the poll choices if they wished. The poll was definitive. Three-quarters of those who replied to the poll all found a single aspect the best surprise. Here are the results we found.
Honda CR-V Hybrid Biggest Surprise - Handling, Road Feel, Driving Comfort
We're not sure what the owners were expecting, but the overwhelming majority say that the handling, road feel, and driving comfort most exceeded their expectations. All Hondas do well in this regard, and many of the owners are loyal Honda fans. Still, this was by far what most owners reported as their most pleasant surprise.
One Honda CR-V Hybrid owner remarked, "So much fun to drive!" Another added, "The feel of the drive, didn't expect it to be so good."
Honda CR-V Hybrid Second Biggest Surprise - It's Quiet
The second choice was the quietness of the CR-V Hybrid. We would have chosen this as our personal top surprise. In our coverage after a week of testing, we reported, "This drivetrain is smooth, nearly silent, pulls strongly in normal driving, and delivers outstanding fuel economy for an AWD crossover this size." One owner said, "The quietness of the test drive is what sold us! And it has not disappointed."
Honda CR-V Hybrid - Other Happy Surprises
In addition to handling great and being a very quiet vehicle, there were a few other surprises. The heated steering wheel won over one owner. Another loved the lane keep assist system. More than one remarked on how comfortable the CR-V Hybrid is.
Polls like this are not super scientific, but they do cast some light on what owners love about their vehicle. If you are shopping for a new CR-V consider the Hybrid trim. You will find that it may exceed your expectations in a number of ways.
