Would you like to fly inside the Goodyear Blimp? Buy a set of Goodyear tires and you can qualify for a chance to fly inside America’s airship icon.
This is the year the Goodyear Blimp turns 100. The original Blimp, named Pilgrim, was launched in 1925. This coming year, Goodyear plans to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Goodyear Blimp with flights over more cities to appearances at new events, chances for fans to fly, limited-edition collectors' items, and a few big surprises. The plan, says Goodyear, is to bring the American icon closer to its fans in 2025 to commemorate its past, present, and future.
"The Goodyear Blimp is an enduring symbol of both nostalgia and innovation for fans around the world. With its century-long history and unique ability to instill a sense of wonder in those who experience it – whether from on the ground or in the air, the blimp gives Goodyear a way to connect with the public in a way no other tire company can match," said Mark Stewart, CEO and President of Goodyear.
Goodyear’s Blimps serve as a larger-than-life public relations “vehicle” to “drive” brand awareness for the company and delight fans in communities nationwide.
Over the years, the Goodyear Blimp has appeared at marquee events, including the Olympics, and the very first Super Bowl. It has been named in famous songs and appeared in movies and on television shows. The Blimp has generated millions of dollars for charities and communities and even stepped up to help out the U.S. Military effort during WWII. This year, to commemorate its indelible mark on history, Goodyear will fly the Blimp to destinations and events across the globe.
To help celebrate its centennial year, the Goodyear Blimp will be making 2025 appearances in more than 100 cities across North America and Europe. Aerial appearances will include the biggest matchups in sports – as well as first-ever appearances at music and cultural festivals. This will give more fans than ever a chance to see the famous airship up close. You can look for the Blimp's next appearance on Goodyearblimp.com.
Very few living Americans can say they have flown inside the Goodyear Blimp. So, this coming year, Goodyear will be giving three lucky U.S. fans a chance to join this exclusive club and win a flight on the Goodyear Blimp. Each winning fan will receive a Blimp flight certificate for two passengers valid at any of Goodyear's three U.S. airship bases (Carson, California; Pompano Beach, Florida or Akron, Ohio). In addition, the winner will receive a $3,000 voucher for travel and accommodations. From Jan. 1 through April 10, 2025, fans who purchase tires on Goodyear.com or through Goodyear's Auto Service or Just Tires network can enter the sweepstakes via a form on Goodyear.com. Goodyear will also extend this offer to those who do not make a purchase. Simply click here to get started.
