If you like customizing cars to your own own taste and preferences, you will love the new 2015 GLA-Class. Buyers won’t have to settle for a GLA that looks like everyone else’s compact SUV. It comes in three different model ranges and two packages for further individualization. Mercedes just released the new premium compact SUV for sale in Europe and the first models will arrive in March 2014. The much-anticipated SUV is almost here.
Buyers in Europe can order their "custom" GLA-Class now. Mercedes is attracting a new generation of millennial buyers to the brand with their fourth new premium compact and these buyers want the ability to choose different options. They can choose between three model lines comprising "Style", "Urban" and "AMG Line." It will also come in unique packages such as "Night" and "Exclusive" and also further optional extras. Each buyer can certainly make their SUV special.
STYLE model range
The “Style” equipment line will come with 17-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, a radiator grille with two silver-colored louvres and chrome inserts as well as a chrome finish on the loading sill protector. Inside it gets ARTICO man-made leather/Dourados fabric on the seats and a multifunction steering wheel and shift lever in leather with silver-chrome highlights. The trim is finished in a carbon structure.
The URBAN line
The "Urban" line includes a radiator grille with two silver-painted louvres and chrome inserts, 18-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels and also a twin-pipe exhaust system with chrome-plated tailpipe trim integrated into the bumper. Additional highlights include a simulated underguard in dark chrome on the front and rear bumpers.
Inside, “Urban” comes with sports seats featuring integral head restraints, the multifunction steering wheel in leather with perforated grip area and the instrument cluster with silver-colored backplate in chequered-flag look and red dial needles. Details such as contrasting topstitching and wave-look trim round off the high-quality atmosphere.
The AMG Line
The "AMG Line" is the sport model and is more than just an appearance package. Driving dynamics are enhanced with an AMG handling package with a suspension that is lowered by 15 mm and it also gets a Sports Direct-Steer system. Exterior treatments set it apart with AMG bodystyling components with inserts in the front splitter and side sill panels as well as rear apron trim in matt titanium grey. It also comes with 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels and a twin-pipe sports exhaust system with chrome-plated tailpipe trim integrated into the bumper.
The interior also features a sporty attitude. Details include sports seats in ARTICO man-made leather/DINAMICA microfibre, the multifunction sports steering wheel with flattened bottom section and the shift lever leather with silver-chrome highlights.
Five engine choices
European buyers have two diesel engines options. The 2.2-liter GLA 200 CDI (32,130 euros) generates 100 kW (136 hp), and maximum torque of 300 Nm. The GLA 200 CDI is also available as a 4MATIC model for 36,509.20 euros. The second choice is the 2.2 liter GLA 220 CDI that generates 125 kW (170 hp) and 350 Nm. It is priced at 37,038.75 euros for the front-wheel-drive model and 39,252.15 for the 4MATIC variant. Two gas engines are also available, a 1.6-liter four cylinder (29,303 euros) and a 2.0-liter four starting at 35,283 euros.
Buyers who want extra individualization can order the ultra-exclusive GLA Edition 1 that is available from 34,603.75 euros and will only be available for approximately one year following market launch. The all-new Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class is almost here and it should be a big hit with millennial buyers around the globe.
