Beyond the color what’s special about new Series.Hyper.Blue WRX STI and BRZ?

Fans that attended the Wicked Big Meet last month that was held at the Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford Springs, CT, got the first look at the new Series.Hyper.Blue 2016 WRX STI and 2016 BRZ models. Now Subaru has announced details on the exclusive sports cars that will be introduced in the U.S. market only.

What’s special about new Series.Hyper.Blue WRX STI and BRZ?

First, they will be ultra-exclusive. Subaru will only build 700 examples of the 2016 WRX STI and 500 2016 BRZ Series.Hyper.Blue models. Subaru says they will offer the Hyper Blue color on the outside and offer it with matching interior trim. 2016 Subaru WRX performance sedans will not be offered in this special color and trim.

2016 Series.Hyper.Blue WRX STI

The Series.HyperBlue WRX STI trim brings exclusive blue stitching to the standard Alcantara seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, manual transmission shifter boot, console as well as carpeted floor mats with the traditional Cherry Red STI logo.

Series.HyperBlue WRX STI also gets 18-inch BBS Black Alloy wheels and black badging with black painted exterior mirrors. SUBARU STARLINK 7.0” Multimedia Navigation System comes standard on this trim with 9 Harman/Kardon speakers and 440-watt amplifier.

2016 Series.Hyper.Blue BRZ

The Series.HyperBlue BRZ cabin features a different design scheme from sibling WRX STI. The leather and Alcantara upholstery includes Hyper blue leather seat bolsters and head restraints. The seats, steering wheel, shift lever boot and parking brake handle all get blue stitching accents. The center console kneepads and door trim also get the blue motif along with an embroidered silver BRZ logo on the front seatbacks. Blue stitching on the floor mats with the BRZ logo finish and illuminated engine start / stop button finishes out the interior. BRZ’s exterior comes with 17-inch black alloy wheels, black glossy badging and painted black finish exterior mirrors.

Both Series.HyperBlue WRX STI and BRZ come standard with keyless access with push-button start and PIN Code Access. Standard welcome lighting automatically turns on interior illumination and exterior lights as the driver approaches or departs the car.

Subaru adds more than just another color to accompany WR Blue Pearl, Dark Gray Metallic, Crystal Black Silica, Ice Silver Metallic, Lapis Blue Pearl, Pure Red and Crystal White Pearl colors on the WRX/STI/BRZ. WRX STI and BRZ also get a new Limited Edition Series. Both Series.Hyper.Blue 2016 WRX STI and 2016 BRZ models will go on sale this fall with pricing announced closer to launch.
