The all-new 2018 Subaru Crosstrek is coming for small crossover shoppers, and it gets three crucial improvements over the previous generation model. The Subaru Global Platform (SGP), a next-generation architecture has been developed using all of Fuji Heavy’s know-how and technological expertise acquired over their 100 years of manufacturing. This new technology is what will underpin the new 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, and all next-generation Subarus.
There’s three main improvements small crossover shoppers will see when it arrives this year. The Japanese automaker accomplished three primary objectives with the new architecture, improved safety, a dynamic driving performance and a more comfortable cabin.
Safety technology
The SGP’s advancements throughout the chassis results in higher rigidity, higher strength, lighter weight, better rolling resistance and responsive steering. Subaru says the new global platform improves crash energy absorption by 40 percent over present models. The new 2017 Impreza (with the new SGP) just received the highest safety rating from IIHS.
Improved driving dynamics
The new architecture will reduce vibrations and produce a smoother ride quality for small crossover buyers. The body and chassis of the 2018 Crosstrek will be 70-100 percent more rigid which will translate to improved steering response, and the increased rigidity of the suspension mounting will also reduce body roll by 50 percent compared to current models. The next-generation Crosstrek will have a lower center of gravity improving driving dynamics in the corners producing a more dynamic ride.
A more comfortable cabin
The new SGP, will help soak up vibrations and noise better than the outgoing Crosstrek. The improvements are intended to ensure passengers enjoy the ride and the conversation in the new crossover. Suspension improvements and the highly rigid chassis allow a more comfortable cabin interior. The cabin will also be larger than the outgoing model with more leg-and-headroom.
The next-generation 2018 Subaru Crosstrek will come with three crucial improvements for small crossover shoppers. Improved safety, a dynamic driving performance and a more comfortable cabin. It's making its global reveal at the Geneva Motor Show March 7, 2017. Stay tuned. Watch the new Subaru Global Platform video on Page 2.

Subaru crosstrek with diesel engine would have sales increased massively in my opinion. Gas prices in asia are almost double than the price of diesel.
