EPA Leaks 2022 Subaru Crosstrek Information - Here’s What’s Coming

The EPA has leaked fuel mileage information and transmission options on the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek. Here is what’s coming soon for customers.

The EPA has posted the latest fuel milage information on the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek before Subaru of America has announced the new model change. The data reveals no fuel mileage change for the 2022 Crosstrek with the 2.0-liter Boxer engine. The information also indicates the 2022 Crosstrek will still come with a fully synchronized 6-speed manual transmission.

The 2022 Subaru Crosstrek Base trim will come standard with the 6-speed manual gearbox. Premium trim levels will also come with a manual transmission. Customers can get a Lineartronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) as an option on Premium trims. All other trim levels, 2022 Crosstrek Sport, Limited, and Hybrid, will come standard with a Lineartronic CVT automatic transmission.

I get way better than the EPA rating with a 2016 2.0L/CVT Crosstrek. I've averaged 45+MPG on my 50-mile commute a couple times, but I can often get between 38-42MPG per tank. I usually get at least 30MPG per tank, even if I've been romping on it a bit in the city. Set the cruise around the speed limit, and stay out of the left lane (and the exit/entrance lane of a 3+lane hwy). I also use a dry, cotton, hi-flow airfilter setup from DNA (off Amazon).
