What are the fastest new sports cars you can buy for under $30,000? A new report from iSeeCars says the next-generation 2022 Subaru WRX sedan and the rear-drive 2022 BRZ sports coupe are among the fastest and live in the fast lane.
The eight fastest new sports cars under $30,000 are ranked in order of the zero to sixty mph time for their starting trim level.
The Ford Mustang is the quickest, with a 5.1 second 0-60 time. It’s followed by the Dodge Challenger (5.3 sec.), Chevrolet Camaro (5.4 sec.), Subaru WRX (5.6 sec.), Mazda MX-5 (5.7 sec.), Subaru BRZ (5.8 sec.), Toyota GR86 (6.1 sec.), and Volkswagen GTI (6.1 sec.).
2022 Subaru WRX
iSeeCars says, “The fourth-ranked Subaru WRX sports sedan is redesigned for 2022; the all-wheel-drive WRX comes standard with a 271-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine that puts out 258 lb-ft of torque paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The base model WRX comes standard with a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, USB ports, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. The 2022 Subaru WRX comes in four trims: base, Premium, Limited, and new GT.”
What is the price of all WRX trim levels?
The 2022 WRX 6-speed manual trim level starts at $30,100. The WRX with Subaru Performance Transmission (SPT) is $31,950, WRX Premium 6-speed manual is $32,600, WRX Premium SPT is $34,650, WRX Limited 6-speed manual is $36,990, WRX Limited SPT is $39,240, and WRX GT is $42,890. Pricing includes destination and deliver fees ($995).

2022 Subaru BRZ
iSeeCars says, “The Subaru BRZ ranks sixth. After a hiatus for the 2021 model year, the BRZ re-emerged in 2022 with a full redesign. The BRZ has a 2.4-liter four-cylinder boxer engine with 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive come standard, and six-speed automatic transmission is optional. The BRZ can go from 0-60 in 5.8 seconds with its manual transmission, while the automatic transmission lags at 7.0 seconds.”

The 2022 Subaru BRZ Premium trim with a 6-speed manual gearbox has a starting price of $28,955. BRZ Premium with an automatic transmission starts at $30,555. The Limited (6-speed manual) has a starting MSRP of $31,455. The Limited with an automatic transmission starts at $33,255. All pricing includes destination and delivery fees.
The all-new 2022 Subaru BRZ is sold out for the remainder of 2022, and sports car buyers will have to wait until next year to get one.
You don’t have to spend a fortune to get a fast sports car. The 2022 Subaru WRX and 2022 Subaru BRZ are the eight quickest models from 0-60 mph under $30,000.
