BMW will showcase the arrival of a new generation of their model lineup and the advent of a wide range of plug-in hybrid models at the 2015 International Motor Show in Frankfurt. It’s where all the latest features and additions are being featured by the Bavarian automaker and runs from September 19-27, 2015.
The BMW 3 Series started it’s successful run four decades ago. The latest variant, the new 2016 BMW 3 Series, will be there with its revised engine lineup, a more advanced chassis and additional equipment options. BMW says the new BMW 3 Series is “perfectly poised to continue an unbroken run of success in the premium mid-size segment.”
BMW has sold over 14 million 3 Series models to date and it’s the brand’s most popular model in their lineup around the globe. The 2016 3 Series in sedan and touring guise has been upgraded with a new design and gets new efficient engines. The choice of engines for consumers totals eleven powerplants and comprises four gasoline and seven diesel engines at market launch. The different engines are mated to various manual and automatic transmissions and power is transferred to the rear wheels or to all four wheels by way of BMW’s xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system.
The 2016 BMW 3 Series’ newest variant is the BMW 330e Sedan plug-in hybrid. This new model couples BMW eDrive technology with a four-cylinder gasoline powerplant from the BMW Group’s newest engine generation. The new BMW 330e has a total power output of 185 kW/252 hp from its two power units, and returns average fuel consumption (combined) of 2.1–1.9 liters/100 km (134.5–148.7 mpg imp) and CO2 emissions (combined) of 49–44 g/km (in the EU test cycle).
