Meet The Subaru Outback XT Special Edition – A Rare Gem Outside The U.S.

Subaru Australia has announced a new 2025 Outback XT Special Edition that won't be sold in the U.S. Here's why U.S. customers won't get this unique trim level.

You can only look and not touch.

Subaru Corporation has crafted a masterpiece- the 2025 Subaru Outback XT Special Edition, a unique trim exclusively for Australia. The distinctive features of this special edition will surely pique the interest of Subaru enthusiasts in North America.

Subaru Australia has announced the release of the Outback AWD Sport Touring XT Special Edition, a new addition to the Subaru Outback line-up. With its limited availability, this special edition is a must-have for Subaru fans who want to stand out.

Scott Lawrence, General Manager of Subaru Australia, says, "This special edition celebrates the adventurous spirit that defines the Subaru Outback. It offers a fresh, dynamic look while continuing to deliver the reliability and performance that Subaru drivers have come to expect."

Do you like Geyser Blue?

This new Outback trim comes in the unique Geyser Blue exterior paint color previously reserved for one Outback trim level. U.S. customers can only get Geyser Blue on the U.S.-specification 2025 Outback Wilderness.

Subaru says the Outback AWD Sport Touring XT maintains the renowned reliability, safety, comfort, and capability of the Subaru Outback while introducing distinctive styling features such as Geyser Blue with green accents.

I like the Geyser Blue on the Wilderness and wish Subaru would offer it on more trim levels.

The special edition Outback is offered exclusively in the eye-catching Geyser Blue exterior paint. Based on the Outback AWD Touring XT flagship trim, the unique model provides a range of advanced technology, safety features, and premium comforts designed to elevate the driving experience.

The Outback AWD Sport Touring XT special edition package has other unique exterior elements, including green accents, black rear badges, dark metallic finish alloy wheels, and a Crystal Black rear spoiler and garnish.

Also, like the Wilderness trim, it features black water-repellent seats. I like it because only some people want or need the rugged Wilderness off-road upgrades, but I will buy an Outback trim to get away from the city on the weekends.

The additions give the midsize SUV "a sporty, sophisticated touch while preserving the adventurous spirit of the Outback," says Subaru.

Subaru has yet to reveal how many new Subaru Outback Sport Touring XT limited editions it will make available. I guess there will be fewer than 500 unique models manufactured for Australia.

"We're thrilled to offer this distinctive model for a limited time and provide our customers with a unique option for their journeys, near or far," says Scott Lawrence.

Spring is coming.

I sometimes forget that it's winter now in Australia. Subaru says the first deliveries of the Outback AWD Sport Touring XT special edition are set to begin in September 2024, which is perfectly timed for spring adventures.

Subaru has unveiled a rare gem 2025 Outback XT Special Edition, a unique trim level that won't be available in the U.S. This exclusivity adds a touch of privilege to the Australian customers who will be the fortunate few to own this special edition.

Customers in the U.S. and Canada with an active lifestyle would benefit from having a trim level that offered the Geyser Blue exterior color and extra features for outdoor activities. However, they can only look at and not touch this unique edition model.

You may want to wait one more year.
