Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG launching next year

If you like the all-new 2013 Mercedes-Benz A-Class luxury compact, you may want to take a look at what Mercedes has planned for us next year. They have just released the first official image of the all-new 2013 A 45 AMG and given us a first look. The German automaker is telling us it will be coming in 2013 and probably in the spring. They say “it will blow your mind and impress with stunning performance.”

There have been spy shots of the new high-performance A 45 AMG compact all over the internet for some time now. Now we can see what Mercedes-Benz has been up to. It looks like next spring will be the official launch date and that would work well when two of the biggest auto shows happen. It could be unveiled at the 2013 New York Auto Show, but it’s more likely going to be in Geneva. We don’t know yet if the 2013 A 45 AMG will make it to U.S. showrooms, but it’s likely that it will be a European launch only.

The A-Class has been a hit with buyers already

When Mercedes-Benz launched the all-new A-Class, it opened up a new chapter in the luxury compact segment, and represents an important lineup for the German automaker. Mercedes was counting on there being a demand for a luxury compact and they were right. It resonated so well with buyers, that since the start of sales in mid-June in Europe, more than 40,000 cars were ordered before the first car rolled off the assembly line.

The Mercedes A-Class brings a new sporty five-seat hatchback model to the luxury compact segment, and it’s certainly matching the heartbeat of a new generation of buyers. It has an attractive base price ($29,340) and comes loaded with luxury and safety features. It offers a sporty “emotive” exterior and an exceptionally high-quality feel to the interior.

New 2013 A 45 AMG will offer stunning performance

Now with the all-new 2013 A 45 AMG buyers will have the option of a high-performance A-Class that will be sure to excite many. We can only imagine how much fun the new performance luxury compact will be with more than 330 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. AMG will do their magic on the 2.0-liter engine and it will be one quick ride. Add in the AMG exterior treatments, and suspension upgrades, and the new A 45 AMG should offer incredible handling and performance.

And those performance-minded buyers will be able to upgrade the new A 45 AMG interior with goodies like Intelligent Light System, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function and a dashboard finished in ARTICO man-made leather. AMG will probably offer special sports seats with integrated head restraints and contrasting stitching.

Mercedes-Benz already offers sporty details on the A-Class designed to appeal to the vehicle's young target group. They will offer the same on the A 45 AMG with features like Designo seat belts in red or silver, an instrument cluster with red dial pointers on the AMG Sport lines as well as the Exclusive and AMG Exclusive packages.
