My New Toyota Tacoma Looks Good But Sounds Wimpy, “Truck Engines Don’t Sound Good Anymore, Trucks Deserve To Sound Good, Too”

If you own a 2024 Toyota Tacoma, Dodge Ram 1500, Ford F150, or Ford Bronco and don't like the wimpy sound, there's an answer. Check out the latest performance exhaust upgrades for pickup trucks. They're engineered to improve tone, volume, and performance.

My new Tacoma looks good, but it sounds wimpy.

That's what a new Tacoma truck owner told me about his new 2024 Toyota Tacoma. However, an answer can be found in aftermarket performance exhaust systems from Milltek Corp. and others. Aftermarket company engineers are constantly developing new exhaust systems for many pickup trucks in the U.S., not only the popular Tacoma.

"As automotive manufacturers strive to make their vehicles more efficient, we've noticed that some engines don't always sound as good anymore," said Steve Pound, CEO of Milltek Corp (and Dodge RAM owner).

Milltek says its skilled engineers design premium OEM+ exhaust systems to enhance the tone and volume, ensuring your truck sounds as good as it performs. "We believe that trucks deserve to sound good, too," and their expertise guarantees they will.

Toyota Tacoma

Milltek says the new exhaust for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma has a choice of resonated or non-resonated versions to create a louder and deeper sound from its 2.4-liter turbocharged engine in Tacoma Hybrid Crew Cab models (both 5-ft bed and extended Cab 6-ft bed options).

Toyota Landcruiser

Milltek says they have recently added a performance exhaust system for the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser. The Landcruiser was displayed at Milltek's stand at the recent SEMA Show in Las Vegas alongside the new Dodge Ram 1500, Toyota Tacoma, Ford F150, and Bronco.

In case you missed the show.

Dodge Ram

Dodge replaced the RAM's V8 in favor of a 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine, and although it has more power, many feel it sounds a little muted in comparison.

Milltek says they've solved this issue with its new Cat-Back exhaust systems that don't just look great with either polished or Cerakote black 5.5" tips but also offer better sound quality and volume from the new engine.

"Using a reflective silencer to prevent drone, once again, we have developed an exhaust system that enhances appearance, sound, and characteristics," says Milltek.

Ford F-150

Milltek has also recently introduced resonated and non-resonated exhaust systems for the iconic Ford F150 (2021+ Supercrew 3.5-liter Twin Turbo V6 EcoBoost or 5.0-liter V8 models, including Tremor.

Ford Bronco

Milltek says they've also recently introduced resonated and non-resonated exhaust systems for the 6th generation of the Ford Bronco (2.7-liter V6 or 2.3-liter I4 engines from 2021+).

Steve Pound, CEO of Milltek Corp, says, "Since expanding Milltek's operations to the U.S in 2022, we've been establishing our dealer network and exhibiting at grassroots events across the country to remind everyone of the benefits in terms of sound, quality, and durability of Milltek's OEM+ performance exhaust systems compared to standard fittings."

Milltek's R&D engineering team in Tennessee continually develops new exhaust systems for the U.S. truck market. As a result, they are expanding its product offerings to include more of the most popular cars and trucks.

If you're tired of your new Toyota Tacoma or other truck sounding wimpy, you can easily change that. Check out the variety of U.S. products and stockists available, including options from Borla, MagnaFlow, Flowmaster, and MRT. With so many choices, you can find your truck's perfect aftermarket performance exhaust system.

My question is, why aren't Toyota, Ford, and Dodge listening to their customers? Many of you want a truck that sounds better than what the manufacturers offer from the factory. Why don't the automakers offer an optional exhaust system upgrade?

Wouldn't you rather have it added at the factory or dealer and covered under warranty?

We value your opinion. What do you think of your Tacoma exhaust system tone and volume? Have you added an aftermarket performance exhaust? Which one? Click the red Add New Comment link below and let us know. Your feedback is important to us and to the truck community.
