The 2015 BMW M6 will make its first public appearance at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, but the new M6 was unveiled for the world and comes with a new facelift. The 2015 M6 will still be available in Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe body styles but it’s getting a few upgrades both inside and out.
New enhancements outside
One of the first exterior changes we see on the new 2015 BMW M6 is the new standard Adaptive LED headlights and the turn signals have been moved from the bottom to the top of the units. There is a more pronounced kidney shaped grille, new 19-inch forged alloy wheels and new aerodynamic side mirror caps. There is also a new exterior Jatoba Brown metallic paint.
New features inside
The new M6 gets telematics and infotainment systems that have also been upgraded. These new features include a new driver assistance and mobility services offered through the BMW ConnectedDrive infotainment feature. BMW is adding a new Aragon Brown leather upholstery to the inside along with a new head-up display and enhanced-style iDrive screen. Other high-tech upgrades include the BMW M Laptimer app, which helps the driver analyze his or her skills in a closed course environment, and also the BMW GoPro app, which features a GoPro action camera that is mounted somewhere in or on the vehicle.
The same M performance
No changes have been made to the powertrain and the new M6 still comes with a 4.4-liter M turbocharged V8 that develops 560 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. The V8 comes mated to a 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) with Drivelogic that transfers all that power to the rear wheels. The new M6 Coupe will launch from 0-62 in 4.2 seconds (BMW M6 Convertible 4.3 sec., BMW M6 Gran Coupe 4.2 sec.). The top speed of the new BMW M triumvirate is electrically limited to 155 mph.
