New Subaru Ascent Family Hauler Is Picking Up Speed

When Subaru first released the all-new Ascent family hauler, the Camden, N.J. automaker was hoping to sell around 60,000 models in its first full year. With one month to go in 2019, the 2020 Ascent could reach 80,000 models delivered to families the first full year of sales. It was a record November for the family hauler with Subaru delivering 7,545 Ascents to customers compared with 5,890 in the same period last year, a 28.10 percent increase. A total of 73,678 Ascent models have been sold year-to-date.

The Ascent 3-Row SUV has exceeded expectations and is helping Subaru of America (SOA) zero in on their goal of selling 700,000 vehicles in the U.S. for the first time ever. The Ascent will also play a big role in helping the automaker hit its 11th consecutive record year in a row.

Why should I consider the 2020 Subaru Ascent?

The Ascent 3-Row SUV can be configured with second-row captains chairs and seats seven, or you can opt for a second-row seat to accommodate eight people, and has 153.5 cubic feet of cargo-carrying ability. The large SUV can tow up to 5,000 lbs. and gets an EPA estimated 21/27 city highway mpg. The vehicle also comes with plenty of high-tech features like Wi-Fi connectivity, USB charging, and Subaru’s Starlink entertainment system.

The Ascent is the largest all-wheel-drive vehicle the automaker builds and was designed only for North American families. It’s built at Subaru’s plant in Lafayette, Indiana alongside the Outback wagon, Legacy sedan, and Impreza sedan and 5-Door compact models. Ascent rides higher than other SUVs with 8.7-inches of ground clearance if you do use the SUV for off-pavement adventures.

All 2020 Subaru Ascent trims are powered by a 260-horsepower turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder boxer engine paired with a Lineartronic CVT transmission. Ascent also comes with standard all-wheel-drive all-weather capability and loaded with standard safety features for families. Ascent earned top safety marks from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Can I get a good deal on Ascent?

You can get 0.9 percent financing on all 2020 Subaru Ascent trims now through January 2, 2020. You can lease a 2020 Ascent for $339/Month on a 36-Month Lease. Now through the end of the year, Subaru’s “Share the Love” event is also going on.

How does “Share the Love” work?

When you purchase or lease a new Subaru, the automaker will donate $250 to your choice of charities. They are partners with ASPCA, Make A Wish, Meals on Wheels, The National Park Foundation, and others you can choose from.
