The 2020 Subaru Crosstrek is one of the top-10 fastest selling cars, and it’s one of the top-10 hardest to find models in North America. A new report from iSeeCars reveals the Crosstrek subcompact SUV sells more than twice as fast as the average car. It takes just 44.7 days to sell when the average car sits on the dealer’s lots for 96.9 days. But the Crosstrek sells even quicker in two U.S. cities, and one warm-weather city is a big surprise.
It’s not a surprise the Subaru Crosstrek sells quickest in Portland Oregon, where Subaru has long been a favorite brand in the Northwest. The Outback is the most researched car in Oregon and has been a favorite because of its all-wheel-drive all-weather capabilities. A new Crosstrek doesn’t sit around long and only takes 29.2 days to sell in Portland.
But the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek sells even quicker in another city where it’s a big surprise. It only takes 17.5 days to sell in Sarasota, Florida, which is south of Tampa-St Petersburg. Subaru is trying to gain a foothold in the southern states where they have not had many sales. But Crosstrek is flying off dealer lots in Sarasota.
A quick search show there is only one stand-alone Subaru retailer in Sarasota, Florida, Sunset Subaru. It shows they have nine 2020 Subaru Crosstrek models in stock. They have fourteen 2021 Crosstrek trims ordered that are in transit and on their way from Japan. Conley Subaru, not far away, has five 2020 Crosstrek models in stock on its lot.
Torque News reported the Subaru Crosstrek is now one of the hardest to find cars in North America. Understandably, the subcompact would sell quickly in cities like Denver, Colorado, Portland, Oregon, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Seattle, Washington.
It’s a surprise the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek is one of the hottest models in a southern coastal city where Subaru has not had much of a presence. It could be Subaru customers in Sarasota are buying the small Crosstrek and using it to transport a kayak, a popular outdoor activity in the area.
The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek models are not at retailers yet but should be arriving mid-August. But we heard some new Plasma Yellow 2021 models are in Oregon now. Floridians will have to wait longer.
