It’s going to be revealed next week at the New York International Auto Show 2016 and the next-generation Impreza will get significant upgrades. Subaru says it’s the biggest overall performance evolution in their history. They are revolutionary because the new upgrades will take the brand far beyond anything the small Japanese automaker has ever done in one generation of vehicles.
The 2017 Impreza will come with five new enhancements that will benefit small compact consumers. It’s worth the wait as Subaru introduces their revolutionary new Global Platform. It will first be introduced on Impreza that will be revealed next week.
What’s coming on Impreza?
Subaru says the body and chassis will be 70-100 percent more rigid which will translate to improved steering response. Improvements to the suspension system will also give Impreza a lower center of gravity which will improve overall driving performance. Check out the New Impreza Teaser Movie below.
New suspension upgrades will reduce vibrations and produce a smoother ride quality. The increased rigidity of the suspension mounting will also reduce body roll by 50 percent compared to the 2016 Impreza. All these enhancements will mean improved driving dynamics for the new Impreza sedan and 5-Door.
New safety performance for the compact sedan and 5-Door
Families will be significantly safer in the new 2017 sedan and hatchback. Subaru already has a top safety rating for all their vehicles, yet Subaru is advancing the safety of their vehicles even more with the new global platform. It will include more high-tensile steel plates including materials formed by a hot press method. Subaru says this will absorb more energy in the event of a collision. Impact energy absorption will be improved by 40 percent over present models.
