Here is what we know about the 2023 Subaru Solterra, and new information reveals what the new all-electric model from Subaru will be like when it arrives in the U.S. The unofficial renderings from AutoYa give an idea of what customers can expect from the 2023 Subaru Solterra.
We know it rides on the e-Subaru Global Platform, but technically it's the e-TNGA developed with Toyota. Subaru will lean on Toyota's electric technology, while Toyota will use Subaru's Symmetrical all-wheel-drive expertise.

The Subaru/Toyota joint project significantly benefits both automakers, allowing reduced costs and accelerated development. Subaru says the Solterra all-electric SUV will be "distinctly Subaru," meaning the new compact SUV will likely have a higher ride height and expanded off-road capabilities.
What new technology with the Solterra have?
The interior could have more new technology than the 2022 Forester compact SUV. The Subaru Solterra's teaser looks like it has an abundance of touch-sensitive surfaces but could be more normalized with a conventional instrument panel with climate and audio controls.

What will be the Solterra range?
The Subaru Solterra will have a dual-motor system and, hopefully, come with at least 250 miles of EPA-rated range. Subaru will likely offer value for its customers giving them access to reliable home charging for the more valuable 30-50 miles they drive in a day.
The most safety technology of any Subaru model
Subaru customers are just as concerned with city maneuverability as they are about safety. The new Solterra will offer more safety technology than any model they currently provide.

All-weather off-road capable
Subaru customers are also looking for a compact SUV that will handle severe weather and be off-road capable. These features are what will set the Solterra apart from the new crowd of all-electric vehicles.
When will the Solterra be available for U.S. customers?
The 2023 Subaru Solterra all-electric SUV global debut is coming early in 2022 with a mid-year launch. Stay tuned.
For the 2023 Subaru Solterra all-electric compact SUV to be a big hit, it has to be the safest, most all-weather off-road capable, and fun-to-drive new EV available for shoppers. If Subaru can offer these core values, they will hit it out of the park.

So far all this looks like is an electrified, rebadged RAV4. Subaru needs to explain how the Solterra relates to all the legendary engineering that has made the Subaru brand unique and appealing to it's customers.

Better get WAY more than 250 miles in range, with a rapid recharge capability!

The looks are too Toyota. Ugh. I don't see the Subaru utility, practicality and uniqnrss that kept me with this car brand from my 30s to now in my 50s. If I can't put a 75in TV in it like I can with my 2019 forester I might as well go with the more utility looking Ariya.

Nose 100% will not look like that. You can easily see the styling lines in the photo with the vehicle hiding behind the vegetation if you zoom way in. I’m pretty sure it will look a whole lot like the Toyota concept, but with fog lights integrated more like the new WRX (but not as chunky).

I don’t understand why these manufacturers ignore the calls for greater range. EV must be at 400 + miles before myself and most people will buy them. Sorry I regularly drive about 300 miles at night and can not stop for 20 plus min to recharge in some remote location.
