If you didn’t get one of the 500 examples of the Subaru BRZ tS that were produced in 2018, you will get another opportunity to buy one. A report from CarsDirect says when Subaru makes the BRZ 2020 model change, the Japanese automaker will bring back the higher-performance BRZ tS.
The EPA has already put up the 2020 Subaru BRZ fuel mileage estimates and the BRZ tS is listed with the BRZ automatic trim and 6-speed manual model. The BRZ tS is only offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox, no automatic is offered. This will make the BRZ tS one of only nine manual-only vehicles still offered in the US.
If you remember, Subaru released the Limited Edition 2018 BRZ tS (tuned by STI) and it was limited to 500 units. The BRZ tS added goodies from Subaru Tecnica International (STI) that bumped up performance over the standard sports coupe. It was upgraded with STI-tuned front and rear Sachs dampers and coil springs, and flexible V-braces in the engine compartment. Draw stiffeners were added to the chassis and sub-frame to improve steering response.
STI also equipped the BRZ tS with 18-inch lightweight STI wheels wrapped in 215/40 R 18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 rubber for superior grip and quicker turn-in. It also came with a special STI adjustable rear wing. Brembo brakes at all four corners rounded out the package. The price of the tS was $33,495.
Torque News drove the new BRZ tS when it was first released in early 2018. We wished for more power upgrades, but the 205hp BRZ naturally-aspirated boxer engine had enough power for most driving situations, even at altitude in Colorado where we tested the BRZ tS trim. Will the new 2020 BRZ tS get more power? We hope it does.
We don’t know how many will be produced, or what Subaru will do to update the new 2020 BRZ tS over the first model, but more horsepower would be a welcomed addition. The report says Subaru will release the new 2020 BRZ tS sometime later this year and will announce more details closer to launch. Stay tuned.

Turbo 350 would be more than enough. Most young clowns would not be able to keep it on the street with 350.

"Subaru Techie International"? Seriously? Who proofreads these glorified blog posts?
And no, the 2020 tS won't get a new engine or any significant boost in power or torque output. So there is no need to endlessly speculate on this for the next 9 months. The compression ratio of the BRZ/86 is 12.5:1. They aren't factory boosting this engine ever; they can't even get a small valvetrain recall repaired without major issues. Just think of the economic misfortune that would befall Subaru if they turbocharged this engine...

Agreed. If you ever read the comments by Subaru engineers, the point of the BRZ is to highlight the boxer engine and the responsiveness of it. Turbo would negate all that and provide more of a WRX experience, which isn't the point of this car...
