The next-generation 2024 Subaru Crosstrek announcement is coming soon. A new report from the Japan website BestCarWeb says the debut of the remodeled Crosstrek is coming to the Los Angeles Auto Show, which runs from November 18 through 27, 2022. The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek reveal will likely be on Thursday, November 17, at the Subaru of America press conference.
BestCarWeb says Subaru Corporation will drop the XV nameplate around the globe. Like in North America, Crosstrek will be the name worldwide, and the subcompact SUV will undergo a complete model change for the 2024 model year.
Subaru Corporation chose to wait for the 2024 model year to make the upgrades and give the Crosstrek a complete remodel; the 2023 Crosstrek remains unchanged. The Crosstrek is Subaru of America’s hottest model and is now the second best-selling all-wheel-drive model in the lineup, passing the Forester compact SUV.
When will the 2024 Crosstrek be available in the U.S.?
The next-generation 2024 Subaru Crosstrek should arrive in U.S. showrooms next summer, and Subaru of America could open orders for the new models next spring.
Will Crosstrek get a new engine?
We don’t expect significant changes to the drivetrain of the 2024 Crosstrek. Subaru of America will get the Crosstrek manufactured in Japan with the 2.0-liter Boxer engine and minor upgrades to improve fuel efficiency. The Crosstrek Sport and Limited will stay with the 2.5-liter naturally aspirated Boxer engine, which could also get minor tweaks to improve fuel mileage.
Subaru of America will keep the Crosstrek Hybrid with the 2.0-liter engine and Toyota hybrid technology and will likely increase its availability to its U.S. retailers.
All-new Crosstrek Wilderness
The 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness is finally coming and will be revealed shortly after the next-generation Crosstrek at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The Crosstrek Wilderness should start production next spring and will be available to U.S. customers in late summer or early fall 2023.
The next-generation Crosstrek will grow slightly larger but stay smaller than the Forester. BestCarWeb says the next-generation model will adopt the current Levorg SGP (Subaru Global Platform) and the new inner frame structure installed in the WRX S4. Look for the Crosstrek to have more room inside and improved safety technology.

Looking forward to hear about the 2024 Crosstrek Hybrid. Hopefully, they'll add a few more HP to the engine and restore the trunk space. And yes, please make the hybrid more available in the American MidWest.

I leased aa Crosstrek last October, it's a Limited so has a lot of great features. Before that I had a 2015 Forester, and loved it. I found the 2021 or 22 Forester seemed bigger than the 2015 model. I decided to get the Crosstrek, and the 1st thing I missed was the automatic trunk opener, and the piston for the hood to keep it open. Since then I have missed the size of my old Forester. Love the way the Crosstrek handles, but prefer the larger Forester. And the gas consumption for the Crosstrek is the same as I was getting on my Forester....so hope the new Crosstrek will deliver more size and better gas mileage.
