Subaru Forester, Outback - Best Cars To Buy Back And Sell For A High Profit

The Subaru Forester and Outback are now two of the best new cars for lessees to buy back and make a considerable profit. See what it means for shoppers.

If you are leasing a Subaru Forester or Subaru Outback, you can make a considerable profit. iSeeCars analyzed the 16 best-selling new vehicles of 2020 to see which have the highest value compared to their predicted price. Newer Forester and Crosstrek lessees can buy back their car, turn around, and sell it for a substantial profit.

The record used car prices allow you to take advantage of a unique situation in the automotive market now. The value increase over the predicted buy-back value is 25.6 percent higher for the Subaru Forester compact SUV. You stand to make around $4,980 by buying back the vehicle and turn around and sell it.

The report says the value increase over the predicted buy-back value is 22.8 percent higher for the Subaru Outback midsize SUV. You could make around $4,905 by buying back the vehicle and turn around and sell it.

Both Forester and Outback score high in reliability, safety, and they hold their value better than all models in their segments.

“The demand for these already in-demand vehicles has heightened amid the microchip shortage,” said iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer. “The vehicles with below-average differences between predicted price and actual price are vehicles that have consistently held their value well thanks to factors including reliability, safety, and low ownership costs.”

Subaru all-wheel-drive vehicles tend to hold their value better than other automakers. In Kelly Blue Book’s Best Resale Value Awards for 2021, the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek, 2021 Forester, and 2021 Outback win individual segment honors. The Impreza also wins an individual award.

The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek is the best subcompact SUV, 2021 Forester takes compact SUV honors, and 2021 Outback is the top 2-Row midsize SUV. The 2021 Subaru Impreza wins the compact car segment.

You could take advantage of the record used car prices if you leased a Subaru Forester, Subaru Outback, and even the Subaru Crosstrek. You can buy back your all-wheel-drive vehicle and turn around and sell it for a $5,000 profit. The problem is, you may not find another new Subaru to replace it. Check out why in the story below.

I have a 2018 Crosstrek (6500 miles, gray/black leather with orange piping))and the lease is up in December 2021...if I buy out lease, could I get more using as a trade in with dealer? And lease a 2022? Since used cars are in demand maybe...Residual is $17,000 buy out. Thanks.

Could get even more for the outback if it is a ‘19 and the owner can get in on the battery class action suit involving this year and model.
