If you were in charge, what would you do to make the world a better place? It's a question Subaru of America asked, and they are doing several things to improve the world. Subaru dominates the automotive industry in the Shorty Social Good Awards for 2020. Subaru is Best in Auto, receiving three different awards.
Subaru gets awards for three initiatives. Subaru is Best in Auto for Subaru Drives Awareness to Keep our National Parks Clean, Subaru Brings the Love Promise to Life with 2019 Share the Love Event, and Subaru Celebrates Pets by Establishing National Make a Dog's Day.
Subaru is Best in Community or Employee Engagement, a new category in this year's program for the most effective engagement strategies with community members to reach a worthy social goal: Subaru Celebrates Pets by Establishing National Make a Dog's Day.
Subaru gets another award for its National Make a Dog's Day, as Best in Animal and Wildlife, for programs, projects, or initiatives executed to promote, protect, and defend wild and domestic animals.
The Shorty Awards honor the best of social media. The specialty competition shines a light on the individuals and organizations producing great content digitally and on social media that advances social purpose through sustainability, diversity, inclusion, civic and community engagement, and various causes, platforms, and industries.
The finalists were chosen by members of the Real Time Academy of Short Form Arts & Sciences, made up of luminaries from media, advertising, entertainment, and technology disciplines.
Although it's not on the list, this year, Subaru gave a generous donation to Feeding America that brought 50 million meals to people most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic around the U.S.
Subaru partnered with the Feeding America network with food banks located all across the U.S. and is the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization with a network of 200-member food banks.
Subaru is known for its all-wheel-drive 2021 Forester compact SUV, Outback wagon, and Crosstrek subcompact SUV, but they are also making the world a better place.
