SIA gave the Impreza compact hatchback manufacturing back to Subaru Corporation in Japan.

Subaru sells considerably more Crosstrek models than Impreza. Because Subaru shifted production of the Crosstrek to the U.S. factory in Lafayette, Indiana, this year, SIA says they are now projecting an increase in output of 131,040 more vehicles over 2022. Fiscal year production in 2022 was 209,960 vehicles produced. Fiscal year production in 2023 (projected) is 341,000 vehicles for the U.S. plant.

Subaru now stands at number five in the share of U.S.-made vehicles for the 2023 model year, which is better than GM, Toyota, and Nissan, and the percentage could go higher after this year.
