If you live near Dallas, Texas, you can be the first to see Subaru's new 2025 BRZ Series.Purple Limited Edition. Subaru of America (SOA) announced the special edition BRZ will make its public debut this weekend on October 19 at Subiefest Texas in Dallas.

Subaru says the Series.Purple is the sixth special color edition for BRZ. You might remember the 2019 BRZ Series.Grey, 2017 Subaru BRZ Series.Yellow Special Edition and the 2015 Subaru BRZ Series.Blue limited edition sport coupes.
Is it more than just a new color upgrade?
Subaru says the new Limited Series Galaxy Purple BRZ is not just a new color upgrade. It's a performance upgrade featuring a 6-speed manual gearbox with an STI short throw shifter and a flexible V-Bar for improved performance.
There are unique exterior and interior accents. The new purple exterior is complimented with black badging on the rear decklid.
Interior upgrades include black upholstery with exclusive gray stitching on the leather-wrapped steering wheel, door panels, shifter boot, and parking brake boot.
Also inside are standard performance-design front seats with Ultrasuede seating surfaces and height-adjustable head restraints featuring exclusive gray stitching and grey leather bolsters. The iconic STI logo is displayed on the red starter button and aluminum shifter knob.
Other goodies include standard 18-inch alloy wheels in a new satin silver finish wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport summer tires.
Are there any power upgrades?
Unfortunately, the new limited edition does not have any engine performance upgrades. Like all 2025 BRZ trims, it comes with Subaru's 2.4-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder Boxer engine, producing 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque.
What is the price of the new Purple edition BRZ?
The new BRZ has a starting MSRP of $35,445. When you add in the manufacturer's destination and delivery fees of $1,170, the price is $36,615.
How many will be available for U.S. customers?
SOA has announced that the special edition BRZ is an exclusive release, limited to only 500 cars. With such a limited number available, Subaru hopes its rarity adds to its appeal, urging you to act quickly if you want to be one of the lucky few to own this unique model.
The new limited edition BRZ joins another new BRZ sport coupe.
The new tS is the other new BRZ trim level that arrived this year. The tS comes with a six-speed close-ratio manual transmission.
Other upgrades include a sport-tuned suspension from Subaru Tecnica International, high-performance Brembo brakes, 18-inch wheels in a dark gray metallic finish wrapped in 215/40 R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, tS badging, and unique interior upgrades.
The BRZ tS also includes:
- Heated exterior power mirrors.
- An upgraded audio system with a 2-channel amplifier and two additional speakers.
- Blind-spot detection with Lane Keep Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.
- Steering Responsive Headlights with High Beam Assist.
- Starlink safety and security.
The BRZ tS price is $37,415. Subaru is attempting to create new excitement around the BRZ with the two new trim levels.
Sales of the BRZ have dropped, and Subaru of America hopes the new limited edition model will help create new excitement.
Last month, SOA delivered 291 BRZ sport coupes to customers compared to 270 in September 2023. That's an increase of 7.8 percent and the first uptick in sales in months.
In 2024, Subaru sold 2,323 sports cars to U.S. customers, down from 2023, when they sold 3,361 in the first nine months, a decrease of 30.9 percent.
When will the 2025 BRZ Series.Purple Limited Edition arrive for performance enthusiasts?
The Special edition BRZ will arrive along with the other 2025 BRZ trim levels at U.S. retailers early next year. Subaru has yet to say when they will begin taking orders. You should check with your local Subaru retailer.
