The First Fully Modified Tesla Cybertruck Ready for SWAT & Military Use, Complete With Ballistic Protection, Has Arrived Just in Time for the Uncertain Times Ahead

A Cybertruck has hit the streets with modifications that transform the all-electric truck into a fully-fledged law enforcement vehicle. Below are all the modifications that make up “the most epic tactical vehicle on earth.”

The Cybertruck is the first vehicle to come fortified straight from the factory. Unlike every other vehicle, the Tesla Cybertruck is constructed from ultra-hard cold rolled stainless steel exoskeleton.

In addition to imparting rigidity and stiffness to the all-electric truck, the Cybertruck’s stainless steel exterior gives the truck the ability to stop bullets.

People have debated the merits of Tesla producing a bulletproof truck; some have even dubbed the truck’s bulletproof characteristics a cheap party trick.

However, whether you agree with Tesla’s decision or not, the Cybertruck’s super sturdy exterior is undoubtedly useful in the law enforcement arena.

Unlike in civilian life, vehicles used for law enforcement or military purposes have a considerable chance of being shot at.

To protect the personnel on duty, law enforcement agencies around the world add expensive modifications to stock vehicles in their fleet.

However, what if you could get a super sturdy bulletproof vehicle right from the factory? That’s what the Cybertruck offers, and interest in the all-electric truck for law enforcement use appears to be high.

Even before Tesla started delivering the Cybertruck, third-party vehicle modification companies were already releasing mockups of their modified law enforcement Cybertruck designs.

Two notable designs came from Oracle and Unplugged Performance. Interestingly enough, Oracle CEO, former Tesla board member, and Elon Musk’s close personal friend Larry Elison showed off the Cybertruck-based Oracle cop car even before Tesla revealed the final specs of the Cybertruck at the delivery event.

Following Oracle’s unveiling, Unplugged Performance, an after-market modification shop focused on Tesla vehicles, showcased the company’s Cybertruck-based law enforcement vehicle.

For a few weeks, we’ve had renders showing Unplugged Performance’s UP.FIT Cybertruck law enforcement vehicle; however, today, the company has debuted the first real-world modified tactical Cybertruck.

Unplugged Performance made the announcement on X, writing, “Cybertruck goes UpfitTesla Introducing world's first Police Cybertruck, ready for Patrol use now from here to Mars! Police Cybertruck in real life.”

Unplugged Performance did not detail all the modifications done to this exact first police Cybertruck unit or which police precinct ordered the vehicle; however, the company has a website that lists all the potential modifications it can make to a law-enforcement-ready Cybertruck.

Unplugged Performance has three distinct categories of modified Tesla vehicles that can be ordered for law enforcement use: UP.FIT Patrol, UP.FIT Admin, and UP.FIT Tactical & Speciality.

For the UP.FIT Patrol and UP.FIT Admin categories, Unplugged Performance allows you to choose between a modified version of all of Tesla’s models, including the Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and the Cybertruck. The company says the modified Tesla Model Y is the most American Police car on earth and the safest car ever for general patrol, administrative, and investigative police purposes.

However, the UP.FIT Tactical and Speciality category is reserved for the most demanding law enforcement jobs, and Unplugged Performance states that the Tesla Cybertruck is “the most epic tactical vehicle on earth.” Unplugged Performance explains this category: "From K9, or Watch Commander, to SWAT or Military use. These are the highest echelon of Law Enforcement vehicles we offer.”

The basic modifications to create the tactical Tesla Cybertruck include…

  • UP.FIT Ballistics Protection NIJ 3IIIA Rated ( front driver & passenger doors )
  • Enhanced Exterior Protection ( PPF ) is highly recommended for high-use areas, such as the hood, fenders, etc.
  • Window tint for UV prevention and covert operation
  • Exterior window guard and breakage prevention

However, these are only the recommended upgrades; for the tactical Cybertruck to reach its full potential, Unplugged Performance recommends other changes, including…

  • UP.FIT Pursuit Performance Package
  • Technology / Storage Container ( Rear )
  • Tint for all windows
  • Exterior Window Guard ( Exterior Glass Protection )
  • Fur Missile Package
  • Supervisor Package
  • UP.FIT Future Proof Package ( Fleet management software, prepaid maintenance, additional support, and more )

As you can see in the video shared by Unplugged Performance, the first modified law enforcement Cybertruck features some of the upgrades listed above. The vehicle has a matte black wrap, side and overhead mounted police lights, and many other changes.

When a Cybertruck is modified for patrol rather than tactical and strategic use, Unplugged Performance recommends using the vehicle to patrol off-road or rural areas. In this category, Unplugged Performance adds other civilian-targeted modifications, including interior and exterior modifications. Some modification examples include…
