A new Cybertruck owner says Tesla had to delay his Cybertruck delivery because the truck was broken even before it got to his hands.
The person dealing with this unfortunate Cybertruck delivery experience is Oliver Almare. Oliver shared his ordeal on the Cybertruck Owners Only group on Facebook.
He writes…
“I was supposed to take delivery of my Cybertruck today at 4 pm. Tesla had to postpone it until Monday next week due to a "power conversion system failure," which they needed to replace. Doesn't sound good knowing that the truck already has an issue.”
Oliver is right that it’s not a good sign that the truck has issues even before getting to his hands. In the past few months, we have highlighted several Cybertruck owners who have experienced multiple catastrophic failures.
Here are a few things from the Torque News Youtube channel that car owners in similar situations can do.
Unfortunately for these owners, despite multiple service visits, the issues persist. Even more worryingly, some Cybertruck owners had to get a replacement truck because Tesla could not properly diagnose and fix the issue.
If I was in Oliver’s place, I would reject the delivery and at least demand that Tesla give me a truck without any prior issues.
However, Oliver appears to be more tolerant of Tesla’s faults.
He writes…
“I guess it's good that they caught it before they released the truck to me... but still...
Anyone else run into this same problem?”
It’s unfortunate that Oliver has to wonder about a critical issue on a truck that he hadn’t even taken delivery of.
As I already said, although not happy with the situation, Oliver appears to be more tolerant of Tesla’s faults and explained in the comments that he had actually decided to take delivery of the truck.
He writes…
“Oh, to be clear, this post was delayed. The original date I was supposed to get the truck was October 25. I finally got the truck on Halloween. So far, no issues. I did think the truck was too sluggish, but then I realized it was in "chill mode." Once I switched to sports mode, all the power was there!”
Oliver shared his Cybertruck ownership experience on November 7 which means he has been driving it for the past 7 days.
In that time, the Cybertruck owner says he hasn’t experienced any issues; however, if he was so happy with his Cybertruck ownership experience, it begs the question: why did he decide to inquire about the power conversion system failure now?
Putting together the issue with the power conversion system and Oliver’s personal experience, which is that his truck feels sluggish, it appears that Oliver has doubts that his truck is in proper working condition.

Did you actually READ his quote that he discovered that the truck was in CHILL MODE? He said after that was changes ti normal mode, the "sluggishness" was fixed.

The interesting thing - well, to me it's interesting; for those awaiting delivery of their mobile computer device, a somewhat different word might be more appropriate - is that it's not ONE issue that these things are experiencing, it's "one or more from this list of issues." Said list includes "problem of unknown origin/description." That bit would make me reconsider (regardless of the brand/model).
